Crop before you resize for social

Many platforms display a center crop. Framing the subject here first avoids “headless” portraits after upload. For Instagram posts start at 1:1; stories/reels prefer 9:16; YouTube thumbnails sit near 16:9.

Freeform vs locked ratios
